Matrix is a structured but dynamic environment in which many planes, elements, materials and even ideas can coexist in relation to one another. It arranges the elements that fall within its realm, allowing one to discern patterns, progressions and projections that enable predictions.

Matrices are powerful mathematical tools used in various disciplines—Philosophy and Metaphysics; Sociology and Culture; Biology and Genetics; Computer and Cognitive Science, Psychology and Consciousness; and even in Art and Literature—often symbolizing a structured system, interconnected network, or underlying framework.

In its tabular form it consists of rows and columns—their intersections creating and defining cells. Any change in a single cell immediately changes the whole.

The digital Universe with its exciting tools and constantly expanding boundaries, becomes a perfect space to explore and express those possibilities. Every byte, every pixel becomes a part of that Matrix where it has a place—an address, like 73 Times Square, on a map, or like an event on a calendar; and plays a role.

A matrix projects the illusion of individuality but it is in fact a single whole governed by fluid yet well-defined relationships and rules. Basically it represents the fundamental structure, and perhaps, even the very nature of reality, with enough room for its illusions, allusions, ambiguities, probabilities and more…

Even a poem is a matrix.

This show attempts to use the potential of this amazing medium of the future, to share the experience of being an aware and engaged observer of the world around, and to present it’s impressions on the subjective mind and its own world within.
