Sanjeet Chaudhury uses the traditional clay toys to create an animated video that narrates the story of one gentleman called Mr.Sailendra Sil. Hailing from a traditional family, he comes of age when he attends a cabaret bar in Kolkata. Then he grows up, gets married, begets a child, she grows up and get married. In this uneventful life, Sil one day finds his passion for photography. He graduates from box cameras to SLRs to Digital cameras. And this ‘progress’ puts him into philosophical questions regarding tradition and modernity. Through visual almost verging to comic situations, the artist presents before us a few ethical and aesthetical issues regarding artistic life and artistic creation.
